Greek Numbers

The system of counting with letters dates back to the second century BC. This system of counting was adopted as early as the third century BC.

The Greek alphabet and their numeric values:
α alpha 1, β beta 2, γ gamma 3, δ delta 4, ε epsilon 5, ζ zeta 7, η eta 8, θ theta 9,
ι iota 10, κ kappa 20, λ lambda 30, μ mi 40, ν ni 50, ξ ksi 60, ο omicron 70, π pi 80,
ρ rho 100, σ ς sigma 200, τ tau 300, υ ipsilon 400, φ fi 500, χ chi 600, Ψ psi 700,
ω omega 800

ϝʹ or ϛʹ or στʹ vau 6,

ϟʹ koph 90, &
ϡʹ sampi 900

These three ancient Greek (Phoenician) letters with the values 6, 90 and 900 are not
used in the New Testament and have become obsolete.
